Meryl's pov
"Her conscious' back, but her heartbeat is still low!"
Drowsily, I heard the nurse shout.
I struggled to open my eyes and realized they were talking about me.
I tried to find my babies.
"Don't move, stay still." The nurse told me, "And congrats, you are having triplets."
Ten months ago, I had a one-night stand with Edison Bradley, the wealthiest bachelor in the world.
I was drugged and drunk, and was pregnant after that.
Pang!
The door was pushed open, my father and my stepsister walked in.
"Meryl, you suffered a lot." My sister Mollie said to me as she walked over to bed.
I shook my head, not knowing why she's here.
She never liked me.
Mollie suddenly sneered.
"I mean, you helped me give birth to Edison's child and suffered."
Her face had that vicious expression I remembered so familiarly.
I froze.
"That's it." She said and took one of the children from the nurse's hands.
"Mollie..." I tried to reach the kid but fell to the ground in a panic.
I cast a pleading look at my father, hoping he could help me.
My father looked at me coldly.
"Mollie can't get pregnant, give her this child! In this way, she can marry Edison."
I couldn't believe my ears.
"Mister Seymour, the patient is weak." The nurse said, "We need to have another surgery soon or she dies."
"Enough! I won't spend a penny on this filthy bitch." My dad said.
"For sure," Mollie smiled, "Lark, throw this woman and those two little bastards out. They are useless."
I looked at these people I once considered "family" in disbelief and felt like the whole world was spinning!
Every nurse and doctor in the delivery room was paid to keep their mouths shut.
Butler Lark nodded, "Yes, Miss Seymour."
